This project focused on different typefaces and the use of form/counterform. We studied specific forms and details within typefaces given to us and I choose a selection of "tasty bits" from each one. Using the personality and unique features of each tasty bit I was able to visualize a cohesive piece that utilized the fullness of it's space while also creating a visual hierachy of the forms.

We choose 8 forms total to create the piece (one bit from each typeface) to create a black and white poster, then used CMY to make the final version.
This is the final poster in a solid black frame. The use of cyan, magenta, and yellow with the help of overprint created a more complex visual to make the piece more appealing. The piece itself is named swim, referencing the small blue fish like form towards the middle that seems to be swimming in a wide open space but still confined within the other forms.
Below are some example product designs along with the original "tasty bits" that went into the process of making and designing the final poster.
This is the final piece imagined as a book cover. I wanted to give more emphasis to the little blue fish so the design is much bigger here. I also utilized the the text to hug the curves in the forms to highlight the feeling of "swim."
Here is both the black and white design and the CMY design. Here I tried to feature different aspects of the piece. On the black and white tin I focused more on the negative space of the design and on the CMY tin I wanted to accent the forms and the mixture of color.
Finally, the complete work on a large scale banner. Having the design be so enlarged is a great way to put more attention on the heirachy of the forms while also experiencing the negative space within and around them.
